Prenatal classes are safe for all stages of pregnancy and all levels of yoga practice. These 90 minute class incorporates strengthening as well as restorative poses. Through the practice of yoga, women deepen their capacity for relaxation, gain relief from common discomforts of pregnancy, prepare for laboring and birthing, as well as create community with one another.
Yoga with Babies is for new parents and their pre-walking babies to reconnect with or start a yoga practice for restoration of mind, body, and spirit. We practice yoga poses to help you take deeper breaths aiding in relaxation and rejuvenation. The key to maintaining a healthy body after birth? Starting gently and moving slowly. Then, taking your practice to new levels as strengthening and alignment in postures is more important and beneficial than ever! And of course Yoga with Baby helps the babies feel better in the company of other parents and babies feeling better and breathing rhythmically in unison.

Kristen Cates is a Certified Prenatal Yoga Instructor, Registered Nurse, and Certified Nurse Midwife with a private homebirth practice in the Bay Area, who recognizes pregnancy and birth as deep and sacred experiences. She enjoys facilitating her students in accessing deeper knowledge of self, and in doing this, exploring the transformative power of pregnancy, childbirth and mothering. She was certified in 2000 with Robin Sale’s Wholebirth Yoga Teacher Training in Santa Cruz, which emphasized Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Practices adapted from John Kabat-Zinn’s work. In October 2010, she furthered her training with Jane Austin’s Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training in San Francisco. The foundation of her own yoga practice began with Iyengar yoga in 1996, with Kofi Busia as one of her foundational teachers. She discovered Anusara in 2006 and enjoys studying with Abby Tucker, Kenny Graham and Sianna Sherman. Of course, her yoga students and midwifery clients are also among her greatest teachers!
Amanda Nube teaches prenatal and therapeutic yoga classes, as well as offering prenatal massage, childbirth preparation, labor support, and postpartum healing. She is a certified acupressure massage therapist and completed her yoga teacher training with Noah Maze and Sianna Sherman in 2007. Since then, she has also completed a restorative yoga teacher training with Judith Lasater and an Anusara Prenatal Yoga teacher training with Jessica Jennings. Her classes are designed to serve students of any level of experience or ability. She is committed to helping build and empower each students’ practice, while inspiring a heartfelt, joyful, and creative yoga experience.
