Carlos Pomeda
The Yoga of Action, Knowledge and Devotion - Bhagavad Gita, The Bhakti Sutras: Joyous Exultation of the Divine
This talk explores the three types of yoga described in the India?s most beloved sacred text, the Bhagavad Gita. Carlos shows how revolutionary this text was because it demystified yoga and brought its formerly secret teachings -- that had been reserved for male, renunciates of the highest caste -- to the masses.
The Bhakti Sutras: Joyous Exhultation of the Divine: In response to the Gita, a wave of devotional (Bhakti) yoga swept India from the 5th through the 15th centuries CE. Carlos tells traditional stories of the yoga saints of this era and demonstrates the Bhakti practice of kirtan, devotional chanting.
