Christina Forth

For me, yoga has been my main means for learning to meet myself and welcome all that I discover with gratitude and curiosity.  Practice on the mat is an opportunity to dive into the flow, cultivate a peaceful heart and experience the full spectrum of life's offerings.  Our daily practice is there to lead the way towards a kinder, more compassionate and service-oriented way of being in the world.

My teaching style is strongly informed by my studies in Anusara yoga and somatic psychotherapy. Into my  focus on anusara's alignment, I infuse a meditative awareness and my love of flowing breath-coordinated movement.   My classes combine a detailed attention to alignment with moderately-paced flows, pranayama, and meditation, so that each student comes into a deeper relationship with his or her body, heart and the intelligence that is unique to each of us.

Christina is in her second decade of yoga and spiritual practice.  Over the years, she has studied in India learning asana from Sri K Pattabhi Jois and pranayama and chanting from Acharya Venkatesh.  She is currently most inspired by John Friend, Maritza and Sianna Sherman.  She maintains a private coaching practice (www.christinaforth.com) in the Bay Area.

She gives thanks to all her teachers for lighting the way.
