Damiana Carpizo
My fascination with the body as the abode of spirit  and as an instrument and reflection of the mind has defined my exploration and keen interest in the healing and creative arts, meditation and yoga.

I have been practicing bodywork since 2005 when I completed the Holistic Health/Massage Certification Program at the University of California Santa Cruz, where I got a BA in Linguistics and South Asian Studies. My yoga practice for the past 10 years and careful study of the therapeutic principles of optimal also informs my work and is oftentimes incorporated into sessions with clients. I have also learned much from my father who is a gifted massage therapist; from my own breakthroughs in dealing with chronic pain, and from every bodywork session I have ever received. My interest in working with pregnant and postpartum women began with a desire to offer relief, comfort and healing care during this challenging and most beautiful time in a woman’s life.

Through my continued work, ongoing workshops, mentorships and self-study I strive to deepen my expertise and knowledge, passing this growth on to my clients. The experience of giving and receiving bodywork is, in my eyes, not only therapeutic but a way of celebrating and enhancing  the gift of embodiment. I aspire to continue this celebration thorough everything I do.
