Anusara 101: The Fundamentals with Laura Ward
Anusara (a-nu-sar-a), means “flowing with Grace,” “going with the flow,” “following your heart.”
Join Laura for a two hour workshop in which students learn the basic poses, breathing and meditation techniques of the Anusara Yoga system. The class focus is on building a foundational understanding of yoga asana (poses) and alignment, and on inviting Grace into our lives. Students can also expect straightforward discussion of the Tantric philosophy of innate Goodness and how a yoga practice can help us remember the goodness, worthiness, and supreme nature of each person and every being.
Epitomized by a "celebration of the heart," Anusara Yoga looks for the good in all people and all things. Students of all levels of ability and yoga experience will be honored for their unique differences, limitations, and talents. Self-examination, discovery, and receptivity to new ideas are foundational to this dynamic system. Individual creativity and investigation are always encouraged within the bounds of basic alignment principles and philosophic precepts of Anusara Yoga. This beginning or refresher class is a perfect place from which to begin or reinforce your yoga practice.
