Heart of Africa: A Community Prayer, Celebration and Benefit

Doors open at 5:45pm with a heart opening yoga class led by Skeeter and Richelle from 6-7:30pm.

Raffle and Auction prizes include art, jewelry, massage, dinners out, a one on one trapeze lesson, a stay at a local bed and breakfast and much more!

All proceeds from both events go to Heal Africa and the Global White Lion Protection Trust:
1) Heal Africa is based in the Republic of Congo near the border to Rwanda. This hospital hosts one of the only programs of its kind in support of women victims of rape and violence. They incorporate medical care, physical therapy, counseling, job training and a womens community in honor of women in deep need for holistic healing. I will spend my time there supporting their counseling program, helping to launch a physical therapy program and teaching movement therapies. For more information go to www.HealAfrica.org
2) The Global White Lion Protection Trust is located in the Timbavati Region of South Africa. White lions are a rare strain of feline that were first seen in the wild in the 1940s. Their presence was predicted by an ancient tradition of lion shamanism and are said to foretell the future of human kind. Today few remain and all live in captivity. Most have high prices on their heads for big game hunters to shoot them at short range. The Global White Lion Protection Trust is dedicated to promoting the health of this species as an endangered species and an animal of spiritual significance.
