Practices to Relieve Stress and Tension with Deane Juhan + Saraswati Clere (In-Studio + online)

Heathy Movement Series: Explore ways to encourage balance and alignment in your body.  In this series, we will focus on a different area of the body each session, addressing common issues and relating that area back to the whole. Learn about creating optimal strength, flexibility, posture and movement to support pain reduction, injury prevention and a freer range of motion. Leave with exercises and releases you can do at home to help you be your best self. 

You can use your yoga class package for these class or purchase a drop in class. Pre-registration is required.

December 3rd : Most of us suffer from low-lying or acute anxiety, or we feel stressed and overwhelmed much of the time. In this class you'll learn; helpful information about the nervous system as well as practices and tools that can support us in times of stress and anxiety. You will learn how to feel more grounded, calm, and resilient. This not only supports your health and well-being but also everyone else in your life.

Teachers, healthcare practitioners, parents, and students are welcome.

$25 drop in or use class pass


In-Studio option: Please be sure to select “In-studio” if you plan to participate at the studio. Arrive at least 10 minutes before class begins

Virtual option: We will use zoom. You will receive the link in your confirmation email and also in an email 2 hours and 10 min before the event starts.

Recorded Video will be available and sent automatically to all registered participants. If you cannot make the time but would like to attend, please register to receive the video link.


Deane Juhan : Originally trained in-residence at Esalen Institute from 1973 to 1990, Deane Juhan has been a professional bodyworker for 30 years. He is a Trager practitioner and instructor, with a private practice in the Berkeley area. The author of "Job's Body: A Handbook for bodywork," and "Touched by the Goddess: The Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Dimensions of Bodywork," he has long had a passion for understanding the relations between mind, body and spirit and the creative forces at work in all self-development, healing and artistic expression. His workshops have been presented all across the US, Canada, Europe and Japan. Their content is focused on both cutting edge research into many aspects of the body-mind and his years of experience as a practitioner.

Saraswati Clere, ERYT500, is an Award-wining film-maker and the owner of Yoga Kula. Her primary focus since opening has been to offer the highest quality yoga education and teacher trainings. She has since graduated about 250 successful teachers into the work force and employs many graduates at Yoga Kula. Saraswati is well known for her ability to convey the essence of the wisdom teachings of yoga with exceptional clarity, insight, and relevance to students of all levels and from all walks of life. Saraswati teaches with a combination of rigor and challenge balanced with sensitivity, humor, and compassion.

Her classes weave together the technical precision of refined alignment-based practice with an ever-present awareness of the great wisdom of yoga philosophy distilled from decades of intensive study and practice.

Teaching for more than two decades, Saraswati shares the depth of her experience and knowledge to reveal a uniquely accessible, authentic and integrated approach to yoga. She empowers students with tools to deepen their understanding and inspires them to embrace asana as a path for expansive self-discovery and inner growth.

A seasoned trainer and mentor of new teachers, she offers yearly Yoga Teacher Training programs, online and in-person that fuel the inner journey of yoga teachers and students from around the globe. Saraswati is the founder of Yoga Kula, Berkeley’s seminal place for the practice of Alignment-based, Heart-centered Hatha Yoga. Saraswati is a certified Anusara Yoga teacher, and has been a dedicated student of Iyengar Yoga for more than 20 years.
