Yoga has always offered more than practices for personal well-being. At its heart, it invites us to discover a way of living that cultivates wisdom, compassion, resilience, and meaningful engagement with the world around us. This year's conference theme, Love in Action: Yoga for Healing Ourselves and the World, explores how the timeless teachings of yoga can inspire us to embody greater kindness, courage, and presence in every aspect of our lives.
Drawing inspiration from the heart of the Tantric tradition, we will explore a vision of yoga that embraces life rather than withdrawing from it. Classical Tantra teaches that our bodies, relationships, emotions, thoughts, and the natural world are not obstacles to awakening but expressions of one indivisible consciousness. Every moment becomes an opportunity to recognize the sacred, cultivate awareness, and respond with wisdom and compassion.
Healing begins within. As we learn to recognize our inherent wholeness, soften habitual patterns, and reconnect with our deepest values, we naturally become more capable of contributing to the well-being of our families, communities, and the world. Yoga reminds us that genuine transformation is not achieved by escaping life but by meeting it fully—with clarity, discernment, steadiness, and an open heart.
Throughout the conference, internationally respected teachers, scholars, therapists, and musicians will guide participants through inspiring lectures, movement practices, meditation, pranayama, philosophy, chanting, therapeutic yoga, and community dialogue. Together we will explore how ancient wisdom can help us navigate modern challenges while cultivating a life of greater balance, purpose, creativity, and authentic connection.
Renowned scholar Carlos Pomeda will offer a three-part exploration of the heart of Classical Tantric Yoga and its profound relevance for contemporary life.
Friday Morning (8:30–10:00 AM)
The Heart of Tantric Yoga: Awakening to the Sacred in Everyday Life
The conference begins by exploring the foundational vision of the Tantric tradition and the non-dual philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism. Rather than seeing spirituality as separate from ordinary life, Tantra invites us to recognize every experience as an expression of divine consciousness. Together we will examine the historical development of the tradition, its essential teachings, and how this expansive worldview transforms our understanding of ourselves, our relationships, and the world. Participants will explore the relationship between Cit (Consciousness) and Śakti (Creative Power), discovering how the recognition of our innate wholeness becomes the foundation for living with greater joy, purpose, and compassion.
Saturday Morning (8:30–10:00 AM)
Awareness, Energy, and Embodied Practice
Building upon the philosophical foundation, this session explores how Tantric teachings come alive through embodied practice. We will investigate the relationship between awareness, breath, prāṇa, and the subtle body while exploring meditation, mantra, visualization, and contemplative practices that cultivate greater sensitivity to the dynamic flow of life energy. Participants will discover practical methods for recognizing habitual patterns of perception, expanding awareness, and developing greater steadiness, resilience, and creativity in both practice and daily living. Yoga becomes not simply something we do, but a way of inhabiting life with increasing presence and openness.
Sunday Morning (8:30–10:00 AM)
Love in Action: Living Tantra in the Modern World
The final session brings the teachings into the realities of contemporary life. Tantric philosophy reminds us that liberation is not found by leaving the world behind but by awakening within it. Together we will explore how the recognition of our shared consciousness naturally expresses itself as compassion, ethical action, generosity, and service. What does it mean to live from the heart of yoga amid family, work, community, and an ever-changing world? Drawing upon the wisdom of the tradition, this concluding session offers practical reflections on bringing greater discernment, resilience, creativity, and love into everyday life, allowing yoga to become a living force for healing ourselves and contributing to the healing of our world.
Together these three sessions provide a rich journey through the philosophy and practice of Classical Tantric Yoga—from understanding its foundational vision, to embodying its transformative practices, to living its deepest insights with wisdom, compassion, and love in action.
